Isla de Cozumel
Cozumel sparkles in the Caribbean Sea just 12 miles off the eastern coast of the mainland (Yucatán Peninsula). The island is 34 miles long and 11 miles wide.
Just a short ferry ride (or a shorter plane flight) from the mainland coast featuring Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Cancún, the island’s separated from the mainland by the Cozumel Channel, near to the Yucatán Channel. The largest city is San Miguel, and the Cozumel municipality is in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico.
World-class Diving and Snorkeling
Cozumel boasts one of the top 5 dive destinations in the world, in part because of its stunning coral reefs (the second largest on the planet) just off the island’s southwestern coast.
Dive spots feature unusually clear sapphire-blue waters – with visibility often at 200 ft –just one of many reasons visitors from all over the world return here for incredible underwater adventures.
